Molecular - genetic test on Coeliac disease and/or Lactose

The celiac disease is a serious gastrointestinal problem that lasts the whole life and it may cause a wide range of symptoms like: diarrhoea, abdominal stretching, loss of weight, malnutrition, cutaneous sicknesses. The celiac disease is due to a permanent intolerance to gluten, a protein complex that can be found in wheat, barley, rye, in many other types of cereals and in all foods that contain them.

The Genetic Test for Coeliac Disease determines the presence of HLA DQ2-DQ8 Alleles in the genome of the subject being examined. The Test is used as a support in the diagnosis of the coeliac disease, which must be confirmed by a physician. Applying a gluten-free diet should happen only under a medical supervision.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The blood sample: Prick your fingertip using a lancing device (sterile and monouse) and deposit a generous drop within the circle on the card, but without pressing the fingertip against the membrane. The blood sample must cover the whole absorbing membrane!

Fill the form included with the kit in every part and sign it.

Put both the test card and the form into the pre-printed envelope that came with the kit.

Mail it within two days.

The laboratory, once the sample is received, informs on the expected delivery date and proceeds with the analysis.

Based on the results, the laboratory draws up a report containing your test results. This document is sent to the e-mail address indicated on the customer information form sent along with the sample.
